Jared has had a head cold since Saturday and I have been giving him something at home but he doesn't seem to be getting any better so I took him to the doctor after school today. I think it was the best trip to the clinic I have had since we have lived here. We were the only ones there so we were in and out in about 15 mins. They had new comfortable seats in the waiting room and there were not many mosquito's. I am reminded that I am in Africa when you have to apply bug spray before going to the doctor. I find it funny that you may be going to the clinic to have a blood test done to see if you have malaria only to find more mosquito's inside the building than outside. :-)
The doctor there today is from South Africa and he is very good with kids. He had Jared laughing the entire time and even gave him a piece of candy before he left. Jared said, "This doctor is better than the woman one." The other thing I really like about this doctor is that he takes you to the pharmacy to get your medicine and he cuts in front of all the Angolans waiting.
As far as Jared's health goes, the doctor said his throat had a small vegetable garden growing in it but the ears had no potatoes in them. I am assuming this is good news. :-) He gave him a nose drop and a cough syrup for bedtime.
