Casa de Animais

Earlier in the week Katie took her dog, Fletcher, to the vet in town to get his hair cut. They did a really good job on him and so I decided to take Sophie in today. Yes I let Fletcher be the guinea pig...that's what friends are for right. :-) We decided to stay while they cut Sophie's hair and that was my second mistake. My first mistake was taking her. :-) The lady was doing a really good job until she decided that Sophie didn't need any hair on her chin...even though I said to leave it long. Katie tried comforting me by telling me it wasn't that bad...but I told her she didn't have to lie. :-) The longer I stayed looking at Sophie the more upset I got so Katie told me to go to the car and she would take care of her. When I went to the lobby Baptista seen me crying and followed me to the car. Once there he asked if Sophie was ok and when I told him they messed her hair all up he tried to make it better by telling me that is what happens when he gets his hair cut. :-) I know my driver didn't sign up to comfort me when Kenny isn't around but he always does and he always does an awesome job....this is why he is more than just a driver for us.

I didn't expect Sophie to come home with the best looking haircut...but I also didn't expect her to come home looking like Willie E. Coyote. I know....I know...it's just hair and it will grow back....but I just don't understand why they would cut something that I didn't ask for them to cut. I have to remember that I am in Africa though. :-) As much as Sophie hates bows she will have to wear one for awhile so people see it before they see the other part of her face. Needless to say....she will have really long hair when we get back to the states in June.

We did get a little laugh at the vet. The picture below is of a dog wearing a diaper. Not a good shot because I was trying to take a picture from another room but you can kind of see it.
