I have not been feeling well so I didn't really want to leave the house today except to go to the clinic and see the doctor. After the boys left for school I realize Jacob left his towel at home and he has swimming class today. I got ready quickly and had my driver take me to the school and dropped off the towel and then I went to the clinic and stopped by the grocery store for some sandwich meat and bread for the boys lunches and of course they had no lunch meat. I did all of this and was home in about 1 1/2 hrs. I have never got in and out of the grocery store that fast or been to the school and back so I was very proud of my accomplishment. I needed to be home by 10am because some people were coming to look at some problems with the house and the maid is off today because her little one is sick.
The SOS clinic, it is our dr office. I started Sunday with a head cold and have been having some dry patches of skin under my eyes. My driver took me in and showed me where to go because part of the clinic is for locals. I filled out paper work seen the nurse and doctor and got my prescription all in about 30 mins or less. The way we wait on everything else around here I figured it would take me at least an hour or longer to get in and out. You do not have to pay for any of your medicine or office visits if you are here so that was kind of nice also.
The guys were supposed to be here at 10 so you know that is not when they showed up. They finally showed up about 10:45 and neither of them spoke English so I brought my driver in to translate for me. Our bathroom toilet has been broke for a week now so we have no water in our bathroom and have been using the boys bathroom. Their toilet is still causing a leak downstairs in the living room, which has been this way since we moved here, and the maid got something in the garbage disposal and now it makes a really loud noise when you use it. Did they fix the problems....of course not...they were just the ones that come and look at it and write it down. They said tomorrow it will be fixed...so maybe Wednesday someone will show up to fix it. For someone that is pretty impatient Africa is not the place for you to live...or maybe it is so you can learn to have patients. Maybe they will come and fix the problems before the ceiling falls in. :-)
