Church, Church & Boy scouts

Yesterday Kenny and Jacob went to boy scouts for the first time and Kenny said it was a lot of fun and the boys had a blast. He said there were probably 20 kids or more there. He said they will meet a couple times a month and they will being doing some camp outs, one will be at turtle beach. In a book I read that they are endangered oleic ridley turtles. Here is a picture of a baby one I found on the internet. It says that their nesting season runs from September to March. Hopefully, this will be a trip the whole family can go on.

We went to church yesterday evening after going by Kenny's office to pick him up from work and we were able to go and see inside his office. They boys really like seeing where dad works. We also meet his boss and a friend of his. The building you see in the distance is his office building...sorry that is the best picture I could get because they are doing some major construction in the downtown area.

There were a lot more expats at church this week and one was Jacob's boy scout leader and some others I have seen at the school. We didn't end up going out to eat this week after church but I think we are going to try a Chinese place next Saturday. You can plan on paying $100/person if you go out to eat at one of the restaurants on the island. The pizza place we usually have after church is about $100 for 2 large and 1 medium pizzas. The only thing we seen when coming home from church was a pig walking on the side of the road.

Today, Sunday, the compound has a little non-denominational church or Sunday school. They sing lots of songs and talk about a bible story and do prayer request and then some of the adults go out for bible study and the kids and some parents stay inside and there is an arts and craft project for the kids to do. I stayed with the boys and let Kenny go out for the bible study and he said he really enjoyed it and the boys had fun too. It lasted about an hour and then the boys played at the park for a little while.

Here is a picture of Jacob showing off a yoga move he learned in PE last week.
