Not a lot happening in Luanda today. Road the bus to school this morning with the boys and then went to another class moms meeting to get some ideas for my classes. I volunteered for year 3.3 and some how got volunteered for prep 4.1. It's ok because from what I hear there are not really a lot of things to do. Each class does different units of inquiries through out the year and the class moms try to get with the other parents and come up with a few ideas to do that pertain to the unit. One of the units are healthy living.....so we will show them some healthy foods and maybe have someone come in a demonstrate some exercises you can do at home. One unit is children's books and the kids have to make books and we will have the parents come in once a week and read a book to the kids. One is survival so we thought about giving them some tents that they have to put together in groups. Also, we help get parents to go on field trips and different stuff like that. I think it will be fun...we will see if I still volunteer next year. :-)
After the meeting I came home to find the guys at the house doing the inspection that they do twice a month. They just replace light bulbs and if anything major is wrong they write it down for someone else to come and fix. I am glad I caught them because all the lights that were out they hadn't changed.
I had put some onions in the fridge and the maid took them out and told me not to put them there to put them in a bowl on the cabinet. She also brought some things that go on the dining room chairs and a table cloth today to show me to see if I wanted them but they had lace all down the sides and it was just not me. I told her no thanks....I hope she didn't buy it thinking I would buy it from her because it was not pretty. I sent the driver to get milk today and he came back with the correct stuff!!!!! My neighbor gave me a package of powder sugar today so I would know what it looks like when they have it at the store!!!
Jacob started getting the crud that is going around that I had earlier this week. He went to school this morning so hopefully he will not get to much worse. He wanted to stay home but I had the meeting this morning and I told him if he stayed home he would have to stay with the maid while I went and he decided he would just go to school. Jared had a friend over to play after school today his name is Borris. We met them when we first came here because they were also new and so they were here early like we were. They are in the same grade but not the same class but Jared says they always play together.
