What a glass of wine will not cure.....

The last two days have been the hardest of this 6 months. Kenny even told me tonight that I need a break to the US. :-)

We have an ice machine that we bought when we moved here for about $250. The day we got it it didn't work. I took it back to get it fixed and they had it for two weeks. It's work fine until about a month ago so my driver took it back. It came with a one year warranty so I haven't pressured them into exchanging it or giving my money back until yesterday. We haven't heard back from them for 3 weeks so we stopped by the store to check on it and the lady said it can not be fixed something is wrong with the motor. I said ok well then can you give me a new one and she said they didn't carry them anymore. I only expected them to return my money since it was still under warranty but she said no she couldn't do that either. I told my driver he could tell her I wasn't leaving until I had a new machine or my money back and then she said she would be back. My good friend Katie told Baptista he might want to get a chair and then asked me for Kenny's cell phone number incase I was escorted to jail. :-) What a good friend. After about 15 mins. the lady returned and said she sent an email to Portugal and they will have the part in about 3 days and it would be fixed by Monday. REALLY...I guess she expected me to just walk away earlier because now they can fix it. TIA(This is Africa)!! I told her that I would be back on Monday and if it is not fixed then I expect my money back and she said ok.

I love my driver...he is the kindest, most hardworking Angola in Luanda but sometimes this is a bad thing. I kept telling him I was so mad and expected him to portray this to the lady and he kept his same face and looked at the wall behind the lady and repeated every word I said and then apologized for my behavior. Katie even asked him if he had a mean face and he just laughed. I told him he had to be meaner on Monday if we had the same problem and he said OK.

Today started out a little better than yesterday until the maintenance men arrived at my house. :) Since January we have been having trouble with water leaks, mold, and lack of water in the house. We run out of hot water quickly and the water pressure has been very bad. They have been filling our tank with water about once a week. Today they came to see why we didn't have water pressure and why mold was growing in a hall closet. They said they needed to paint the closet and water wouldn't come through the wall anymore. They didn't bother to figure out where the water was coming from but the paint will stop it. I just smiled and said paint it and I will call you back in a week when it is still leaking and mold everywhere. :-) They said the filters needed changed and that would fix the water pressure. About 2 hours later we had no water in the house so I called Kenny. The company called the compound and they came to fill our tank up. When they got here they said the tank was full and something was wrong with our pump. We called the plumbers to come back and in the meantime Kenny got home and looked at the pump and noticed that the values to the filters were turned off.

I am so tired of water issues.
