O Canada

I think I will have to change the name of our blog to Our Canadian Adventure. We are on a house hunting trip this week and the weather is beautiful.....upper 60s and lower 70s. There are not too many houses for rent in the areas that we like that will allow pets. We have looked at a few and found one we really like but its a little small. Here you pay a lot and get very little. Tomorrow our last full day here I will look at two more houses and then we will have to make a decision. The boys already love it here. Its amazing what we are excited to see here...Taco Bell(we hardly ever eat there), Red Lobsters, Home Depot, Bed Bath and Beyond, Wal-Mart, Target, Dairy Queen, Sears. We even went to Wal-Mart and walked around to see if they have the same stuff our Wal-Mart has and they do for the most part. I guess coming from Africa we expected something similar. We knew that it was more like America but still wasn't sure. :-)

We have learned that sweet tea is called Iced Tea and Un-sweet is called un-sweet. A tuque is a knit stocking hat. They say "eh" and "for sure" a lot.

We haven't looked around much because Kenny has been working and the boys and I have been looking for a house. Tomorrow, we will look at two more houses and make a decision and sign a lease. Hopefully, if I have all of that finished by the time Kenny gets off work we will head out to the mountains for a little sight seeing before we leave Saturday morning.

Our first trip to Canada!!!!

We had to fly to Arizona first because of our late bookings which added a few extra hours to our flight but the boys loved seeing the Grand Canyon.

The Rocky Mountains.

Here are a few pictures from what little we have seen. These first pictures are of the Olympic Park where they held the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. They still use this area in the winter and the summer months. This is really close to our hotel so we went and looked around.

The Olympic Torch.

These are pictures of downtown where Kenny works.

That needle is a restaurant that spins 360 while you are eating.

Kenny's office building.

This is the Bow River that you have to cross from the North to get to downtown. Very pretty.

While looking for houses we found our first spot to plug in your car when you park it. I find this so so weird. The boys said they would use it to charge their IPads. :-)

We stopped at a play center and played black light putt putt.....

and the boys played in this huge play area forever.

That's all I have for now. Tomorrow maybe I will be able to show you pictures of our house!!!! We are also going to try and take a short trip to Banff and see the mountains and have dinner.
