Yes I am behind again. Maybe I should just strive for a weekly post instead of daily. The last week was all over the place. The boys had school Monday-Wednesday and were out Thursday and Friday because of the Presidential elections. There are about 9 candidates I believe. There are flags and banners around for the current President but not many of the others. The current President has been in power for 30 years and is this countries 2nd President. There was talk that there may be demonstrations but we haven't seen or heard of any. Katie and I went grocery shopping on Wednesday morning and found our self in the middle of traffic that was going to a rally for the current President at the football stadium. I have some pictures below. We made it home safely and even was able to see the President pass us on the way home. One thing funny about the way the voting here is the black thumb. Baptista was telling us that after they vote they have to dip their thumb in black ink. He said this way you can not vote more than once.
Jacob started his guitar lessons a couple of weeks ago. He likes it but says it is getting really hard. He is getting pretty good at Ode To Joy, so maybe a video soon. :-)
The unit Jacob's class is studying now is the Human Body. Last week him and a partner drew their interpretation on the human body. Pretty good!!
Just a picture of some everyday life around town.
On a positive note...we are moving up in the world at our local Kero. I almost felt at home...like I was in Wal-Mart. The CMS guy is now on roller skates trying to speed up the process and it seemed to work a little.
These next pictures are of people on the way to the Presidential rally. This picture doesn't show the excitement these men had. They were yelling and blowing horns and dancing.
